Technically speaking, the Sustainability Report is a tool for reporting and representing a company’s actions relevant to sustainability issues and is also used to formalise the future commitments a company undertakes. At Arredo3 we regard it as a valuable tool to help further reduce our environmental impact but also to improve people’s well-being, leaving a positive and tangible impression over time. As a result, with our recently completed 2024 Sustainability Report we have decided to adopt in advance the European Union’s requests on the matter and incorporate as of now the novelties that are being introduced.
What does this mean, concretely? The European Union has convincingly embraced sustainability and encourages companies to do likewise, in the interest of all subjects. The new directive extends the sustainability report obligation to an increasingly broad target of subjects, defines clear and comparable parameters and requires companies to assess the impact of their activities on society and the environment, and the impact that environmental and social issues may have on their business. In turn, this will produce a more comprehensive picture of the risks and opportunities linked to sustainability, where the latter will become an integrating and integrated part of the overall strategy of each business, all the more so that the report will have to be audited by an external subject, as occurs with financial statements.
The Arredo3 2024 Sustainability Report therefore incorporates the latest updates on the topic found in the CSRD and ESRS directives. In practice, this implies two concrete actions: we have already drawn up a sustainability report merging environmental, social and governance information and have done so according to a specific format, defined by the European Union, aimed at producing clear, uniform and comparable reporting information.
More specifically, we applied the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). It is currently compulsory for large listed companies but also public-interest entities; however, from 2026, it will also apply to large non-listed companies such as ours.
The Arredo3 2024 Sustainability Report has already proven to be a valuable governance tool: we are using it as a basis to build a solid, shared and concrete strategic development path.
